As more people receive their GH4 cameras, more tests are being performed across every feature imaginable - including a slew of various media cards. I've already shared some great options previously, but here's another set of SDXC cards shared by Jay [Thanks Jay].
These Transcend SDXC Cards have a Read speed of 95MB/s and Write Speeds of 60MB/s. Perhaps not the fastest card available, but definitely one that falls easily in the 'Best Bang for the Buck' category. At just $48 bucks normal price for a 64GB SDXC Card you're looking at around .75 cents/per GB. You can find these new Transcend SDXC Cards following the link (click here).

BTW, another change from the GH3 camera is the HDMI out port. They are no longer using the Mini-HDMI connection, instead they are using the microHDMI D-Type. So I ended up having to buy some new cables for my ATEM switch. In case you're still waiting for your GH4 to arrive, you may want to get your microHDMI cables in too. I picked up a set that had over 1,000 reviews, and were affordable. Sounds like they will work just fine: https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-Speed-Micro-Ethernet/dp/B004C3AW40/.

Thanks emm!

Post author@Aberracus - My guess is that person is a bit confused between 200MB/s and 200mb/s. 1080p can be captured in 200mbs, which translates to something around 25MB/s. These cards are more than fast enough. I have used very cheap cards with a slower read write speed compared to those cards since I received (3) GH4 cameras. I don't see how it would not work.
Aberracus
@emm I ha read some reviews on amazon saying those would work on 4K but not 1080 200mbs, anyone have tried them?
Thanks in advance
Emm
Post author@Aberracus - I have not used these cards, but the rating specs show that it will work perfectly for the GH4 in any resolution, framerate, or data rate.

Hi emm these cards work at 1080 24p 200mbs ?
Emm
Post author@Friberg - Yes I have used all three GH4 cameras switching with my ATEM 4K. I prefer not to use 1080i anyways, I used 1080 24p.
Friberg
Did you get your GH4 working with your ATEM?
Heard about there was no 1080i output on it.
arnaud
At 4K (100Mbit/s) it is 43.5GB/hours. Wich is 1.5 hours on a 64GB, like Emm said.
arnaud
Highest bitrate on the GH4 is 200Mbit/s = 25 MB/s = 90,000MB / hours = 87 GB/ hours
At 4K (100Mbit/s) it is 43.5GB/hours. Wich is 1.5 hours at 4K, like Emm said.
I am getting a couple of those 128GB cards !
mrazrakino
Definitely interested in those cards. Waiting for the review 🙂
Emm
Post author@Tony - I will have to check again, it shows estimated time on the screen. I want to say around 1.5 hours of 4K.
Tony
About how long do you think you can record on 4k on the gh4 with a 64gb card?
