Edelkrone has introduced many changes to SLIDERPLUS and will be releasing this new version July 15. This new version is designed with more aesthetics in mind. So it fits and looks better in your production environment. Color change, hidden wheels, more unified look… SLIDERPLUS v2 comes in 3 sizes. Small, Medium and Large which delivers 40,60 and 80 cm of camera travel respectively.

Even more silent operation: Delrin wheels working on aluminum rails give more silent and smoother results. The New SliderPLUS comes with 1/4’’ to 3/8’’ converters, providing changeable mounting options. Thus, you can now mount both types of tripods to SLIDERPLUS. Pricing and availability info can be found from www.edelkrone.com from July 15.

We've actually taken the original Edelkrone SliderPLUS+ out a few times, and despite some of the quirks (which have been addressed in V2), it is a very smooth well built slider that is the only one to offer both the benefits of a compact travel size and combine it with sufficient slider travel distance in a single package. Here's a short video of our tests with the original SLIDERPLUS+.

The original SLIDERPLUS+ can still be found via eBay (Click Here).

Here's a Motorized-Product-Table-Variable-Speed-300x217 Motorized Rotating Product Table that was shared to me a short while ago. I decided to try this one out mainly because of the option to vary the speed. It's much more expensive, but this is another great option that will appeal to some people. Here's a video with the product in use rotating the Fuji X100s.

Here's another video using the exact same Variable Speed Motorized Turntable from YouTube member Aaron Nanto shot with an FS100

Now if you just want to save money and don't mind using a table that only offers one speed, you should check out my previous article (found here). The cheaper single-speed version can be purchased for under $50 dollars, while this variable speed product table can run up to three times the price (found here via Amazon).

Anyone who has had to operate a slider during an interview will realize the value this new slider can add to your projects. Best of all, this tool can replace additional overhead on crew to operate that B-cam while adding high production value dynamic camera movements.

Fully motorized, the new Redrock Micro One Man Crew Motorized Slider offers variable speeds, steady consistent movements, and silent operation. The curved track design allows your subject to remain in frame as the camera tracks back and forth automatically. The new RedRock Micro One Man Crew is available now for pre-order (click here).

At NAB2103 Konova announced two new video camera sliders to extend the product line of roller bearing video sliders. The smaller K1 roller bearing slider is now even more portable to address the smaller compact video cameras that are becoming increasingly more popular. The K1 is now the most affordable roller bearing video slider in the Konova product line.

The larger K7 Video Camera Sliders use a wider rail with special cut outs to lighten the system without affecting it's overall structural integrity. The larger slider with wide railings are targeting the new trend of larger broadcast systems and the push for 4K heavy ENG style cameras. The new Konova K1 and K7 Video Camera Sliders can already be found via eBay (below).

Edelkrone's SliderPlus+ is a slider that adds a long slide in a smaller compact size for travel. The design allows you to achieve a 2ft slide on a 1ft slider. At NAB2013, they were also showcasing an auto targeting pan head that will maintain a subject in frame while the slider is in motion. This unit can also be combined with their future motorized time-lapse controller for more interesting dynamic camera movements.

Up close, the SliderPlus+ has an amazing build quality and offers very smooth fluid movement. It can be used on a single tripod (or stand) if you can provide a wide enough stance to maintain support as the slider travels towards the end. Edelkrone SliderPlus+ sliders on eBay can be (Found Here).

NAB is one of those shows where companies try to announce new innovative products. Now that we're about a week away, you'll start to see a few product teasers being released online, just like this new product teaser from the Konova company.

This Motorized Slider (slash) Motorized Pan Tilt Head (slash) Crane / Jib product combines several tools in one unit and is controlled by their Smart Controller system which offers advanced Motion Control Time Lapse functionality. That's about all the information I have so far, but expect to find many new products to be released following the NAB show at KonovaPhoto.com.

Vimeo member Marthin Fort put this video together on how to adjust the bearings on the Konova Video Camera Slider [Thanks Marthin]. Over time, you may end up with a little play on your slider so to correct this you will need to get the top part of the carrier off, and then unlock the bearing underneath. Once the bearing is unlocked, adjustments are made by turning the bearing clockwise or counterclockwise until it fits well between the rails. The Konova Video Camera Sliders (found here) are available in a variety of different sizes, but generally the bearings can be adjusted in the same way.

Exciting news as Varavon will be offering a new motorized add-on / upgrade kit for their slider products. Assembly of the new 'Motorroid' kit can be seen in the video (below).

As a variable speed slider the kit looks great to provide very consistent and smooth video tracking shots. If you follow the assembly video you can see how the dial is used to ramp up speed rather than just a simple on/off switch that will cause harsh start/stops. The new Motorroid Motorized Slider Kit will also have limit switches preventing the slider from continuously running as it reaches the end of travel.

The best part about the kit is how simple it is to modify for various lengths and the fact that it attaches with basic 1/4-20 connections at each end. If you get what i'm saying, the kit basically looks simple enough to modify to add motorized functionality to any existing slider on the market. More information about the new Varavon Motorroid and Timeroid products will be found at the Varavon website https://Vifocam.com

The most common question with motorized sliders is 'Can it do Time-Lapse?'. Sure the motorroid lacks any advanced features for slow movements, but that's where the 'Timeroid' product fits in with Varavon's new obsession with motion control products. The system uses a wire to pull itself along either on a rail, wheeled dolly, or even through a cable-cam setup as seen video below.

Wondlan has introduced a new motorized video camera slider, but instead of the typical pulley belt system, they are using a direct gear drive method. The geared motor is built inside of the trolley and meshes directly to a rail that runs along side of the slider.

Doesn't quite mention if it can be used as a basic manual slider in case noise may be an issue. Minimun speed: about 0.555 cm/s and Maximum Speed: about 15 cm/s. It's probably directed more for simple video movements as this product does not include an advanced motion controller that can trigger your camera's shutter or to offer shoot-move-shoot (Interleave) for Time-lapse photography. Check out the product via eBay (click here)
