Current retail value for a 5D Mark III lists for $3299, and on a good day you can find the Canon 5D Mark III fall around $2899. It's been a while since we've seen the 5D Mark III at this price, but here is a Black Friday Deal today bringing the price down to just $2499 via eBay (found here).

It certainly was a good deal, but keep in mind that these $2500-2700 are coming around every few weeks now. And this guy had a stock of 500. So, if indeed it had Canon USA warranty as advertised, you can bet the seller was not losing money at this price. I'm convinced that Canon is letting the price of the MKiii unofficially and quietly slip down to that level, down to the MKii level, because the MKiii never sold that well. I'm guessing there will be more of those deals as we're headed towards Christmas and the official price might actually slip to that level in early 2013.

I would hold off. Bigvalue is not an authorized canon re-seller. They are offering some sort of in house warranty.
I would avoid this deal.
