thanks guys...I just sat down to the responses. Even though the mkiii has been having great prices I'm sure we'll be able to score a 6d for slightly under 2grand when they come out. so I'll hold out.

Post author@getem - Oh totally missed that. My bad. The 6D should be better than the D600 especially with a better codec.

I believe J Hanna was referring to the new entry Full Frame camera by Canon, the Canon 6d which will be released later this year for $2100
For video purposes it looks to be the same as the Mark III, now for photo it's very different.
So yeah if you're only doing Video than the 6d would be a better camera.

Post author@J Hanna - Anyone that has to deal in low lit situations will benefit from the 5D Mark III. I think anyone that has to deal with run-gun event coverage will love the 5D Mark III over the D600. If you are always working in a controlled well lit studio, almost any camera can look good.

I never record audio to the camera...except for a scratch track. and I rarely take stills anymore with anything but my pocket cam.
Is a 3000$ 5dmkiii worth it...or should I hold out for the 2100$ 6d
