Procinematools.com throws up a short video review showing the Edelkrone Monitor / EVF Holder. These types of brackets are great when you need to readjust the position of your monitor or EVF through the day and they don't tend to spin loose like traditional friction arms. The Edelkrone Monitor / EVF Holder can be found at https://Edelkrone.com and often cheaper through eBay (found here).
Jonas writes in and shares the latest Lilliput 663 HDMI Monitor with IPS Screen [Thanks Jonas]. The new IPS screen sports a 1280x800 HD display (cheaper monitors only display 800x480 max), has better viewing angles, and also claims to be almost twice as bright as current competing (sub $300) lcd models. The new Lilliput HDMI Monitor sports an IPS LCD Screen which falls in line with their Flagship 9.7" HDMI Monitor design (seen here) but the 663 now comes in a more professional aluminum housing.
The 663 seems to be offered in a few different versions. A basic model is simply a high resolution display, while stepping up a few dollars offers popular features of false color, focus peaking, zebra exposure, histogram overlays, etc. Some versions offer HDMI in only and more expensive options include HDMI in/out for pass through and also HD-SDI input connections for cameras like the BlackMagic Design Cinema Camera. Available in a 7" version right now (no 5"), and you can find more about the Lilliput 663 HDMI monitors via eBay (click here).
Maybe you've had your eye on this, maybe not. In any case, the Carry Speed VF-3 LCD View Finder is available for $99.99 for the next 48 hours. More about the VF-3 product can be found at the product page (Click Here).

Here's a cheaper 3.5" HDMI EVF you will probably be hearing more about from Seetec. The magnifying loupe attaches and detaches similar to the SmallHD DP4, but that's pretty much where all the similarities end. Kicapi Productions has a video demonstrating some of the features [Thanks Kicapi Productions].
So hopefully the video above answers any questions about the EVF as you begin hearing about it from other blogs and forums. It's definitely not as high quality or as full featured as the other brands, but it comes in at about half the price. Kicapi Productions has the Scope 3.5" EVF already available to Malaysian/Asian countries at https://www.kicapi.com.
As popular as the Canon 5D Mark III has been, there are only a handful of LCD ViewFinders made specifically for the camera. If you're an owner, this might be something you've looked into. So here's a look at Varavon's latest MultiFinder UNI / LCD View Finder. There are older versions of the Multifinder that are very specific to each camera, but the new UNI (i'm guessing for universal) has adjustments on the base and on the View Finder itself which allow it to work with a wider range of camera bodies. Below is an unboxing video that i've done and how it fits on the Canon 5D Mark III camera body.
The unique feature on the Varavon Multifinder products is it's ability to achieve low angle shots by use of specially aligned mirrors. The optics can be removed if you only need to use it as a simple sunshade, and the quick release system makes it easy to remove the entire view finder. The MultiFinder UNI runs for $295 is currently on sale for the holidays at $236 at their website (click here)
Here Adoroma shows functions of the FlashPoint 8" HDMI LCD Monitor with Wireless Remote Shutter. Could be handy for still photographers, and for video the LCD can be used with the direct HDMI connection. The wireless video feature works through SD cables, and because it will disable the on-camera LCD (for DSLRs), I don't think it's a good solution for DSLR Video shooters.
While there's an obsession for smaller and smaller high resolution HDMI LCD Monitors, Lilliput's latest release is a huge 9.7" IPS LCD Field Monitor. That's about as large as an iPad screen. Besides having all the standard software features you'd expect like Peaking Filter, False Color, Exposure Zebras, and a Histrogram, this new 9.7" LCD stands as their first Professional Field Monitor and current Flagship Product with a variety of inputs including (2) HDMI Inputs and (1) HDMI Output.
Can be powered through popular Sony batteries, or through Canon LP-E6 with a battery plate adapter. Folding sunshade, simple Analog Dials for adjustments, and Gimbal Yoke for easy re-positioning. I really like where this is going, as I can see myself using a larger monitor on many occasions. You can find more photos, details, and specs from the new Flagship Lilliput Field Monitor over at eBay (Click Here).
Disclaimer: I help to design products for PhotographyandCinema.com. The article below is information about the new P&C GearBox. There are many other great DSLR style cages available within articles of this blog that you may also want to consider.
There are many High End, Super Heavy, Robust video cages available for the Professional market, but we found a lack of more affordable options for smaller style video cameras such as the Sony NEX-7 or Popular GH2. The P&C GearBox is designed to be simple, lightweight, modular, and of course - affordable.
The GearBox has a solid metal bottom and top bracket with several 1/4-20 mounting options for your accessories such as an LED video light, Portable Recorder, HDMI LCD Monitor, Microphone, Wireless Receivers, etc. To take up minimal space in a bag when packing up or traveling, the GearBox can easily be disassembled with a single Hex driver.
The GearBox will support a quick release plate underneath if you want to mount the rig onto a Tripod. Extension adapters are provided to support taller cameras, or if you want to add a quick release system into the cage unit allowing you easy removal of your camera body. The rubber coated side handles provide a non-slip comfortable grip and are spaced further apart to add stability for hand-held shooting styles. Interested in a Rail System? Soon to be released is the 15mm Rod adapter (sneak peek here).
Lee Daley shared his DIY HD Wireless monitor solution via Twitter [Thanks Lee]. My solution is based on the discontinued Asus WiCast (seen here) and powered by Tekkeon batteries. Those Tekkeon batteries work great, but aren't very small so my solution isn't the best option out there.
These consumer HD streaming kits work great. They don't offer incredible range, but it will keep you untethered to move around and share your video feed (to a director). The kit he uses is often rebranded and you can see how it looks exactly like the one he's using (above). You can be find this kit on eBay for just $160 bucks.
