Jonas writes in and shares the latest Lilliput 663 HDMI Monitor with IPS Screen [Thanks Jonas]. The new IPS screen sports a 1280x800 HD display (cheaper monitors only display 800x480 max), has better viewing angles, and also claims to be almost twice as bright as current competing (sub $300) lcd models. sports an IPS LCD Screen which falls in line with their Flagship 9.7" HDMI Monitor design (seen here) but the 663 now comes in a more professional aluminum housing.
The 663 seems to be offered in a few different versions. A basic model is simply a high resolution display, while stepping up a few dollars offers popular features of false color, focus peaking, zebra exposure, histogram overlays, etc. Some versions offer HDMI in only and more expensive options include HDMI in/out for pass through and also HD-SDI input connections for cameras like the BlackMagic Design Cinema Camera. Towards the end of 2010, it seemed like there would be an explosion of Electronic View finders. In the end only a handful have been popular such as the Cineroid EVF (starting $548), Zacuto EVF (starting $749), and the SmallHD DP4-EVF (starting $599).

Here's a cheaper 3.5" HDMI EVF you will probably be hearing more about from Seetec. The magnifying loupe attaches and detaches similar to the SmallHD DP4, but that's pretty much where all the similarities end. Kicapi Productions has a video demonstrating some of the features [Thanks Kicapi Productions].
So hopefully the video above answers any questions about the EVF as you begin hearing about it from other blogs and forums. It's definitely not as high quality or as full featured as the other brands, but it comes in at about half the price. 3.5" HDMI LCD Electronic View Finder
As popular as the Canon 5D Mark III has been, there are only a handful of LCD ViewFinders made specifically for the camera. If you're an owner, this might be something you've looked into. So here's a look at Varavon's latest MultiFinder UNI / LCD View Finder. There are older versions of the Multifinder that are very specific to each camera, but the new UNI (i'm guessing for universal) has adjustments on the base and on the View Finder itself which allow it to work with a wider range of camera bodies. Below is an unboxing video that i've done and how it fits on the Canon 5D Mark III camera body.
The unique feature on the Varavon Multifinder products is it's ability to achieve low angle shots by use of specially aligned mirrors. The optics can be removed if you only need to use it as a simple sunshade, and the quick release system makes it easy to remove the entire view finder. While there's an obsession for smaller and smaller high resolution HDMI LCD Monitors, Lilliput's latest release is a huge 9.7" IPS LCD Field Monitor. That's about as large as an iPad screen. The GearBox has a solid metal bottom and top bracket with several 1/4-20 mounting options for your accessories such as an LED video light, Portable Recorder, HDMI LCD Monitor, Microphone, Wireless Receivers, etc. To take up minimal space in a bag when packing up or traveling, the GearBox can easily be disassembled with a single Hex driver.

P&C GearBox - DSLR Cage Video Accessory Bracket
Lee Daley shared his DIY HD Wireless monitor solution via Twitter [Thanks Lee]. My solution is based on the discontinued Asus WiCast (seen here) and powered by Tekkeon batteries. Those Tekkeon batteries work great, but aren't very small so my solution isn't the best option out there.
Lee is using a different more affordable consumer Wireless HDMI streaming kit. Powering the receiver through what looks like a cheap CCTV battery pack and the HDMI Transmitter is much smaller and can be powered through the USB port of the SmallHD DP6.
These consumer HD streaming kits work great. They don't offer incredible range, but it will keep you untethered to move around and share your video feed (to a director). The kit he uses is often rebranded and you can see how it looks exactly like the one he's using (above). You can be find this kit on eBay for just $160 bucks.
