The Rokinon 24mm F/1.4 sells for $615-$650 dollars (seen here), but for a limited time an authorized reseller is offering the new 24mm F/1.4 for $499 + FREE SHIPPING (all camera mounts). This is and easier lens to work with on a cropped sensor Canon, or even micro four thirds camera like the new GH3 as it would be closer to a 50mm (equivalent). If you've had your eye on this lens, check out the limited time sale via eBay (click here).

The older Rokinon 85mm F/1.4 lenses are still a great value and produce great quality, but here's an unboxing of the latest Rokinon 85mm T/1.5 Cine Lens in the new Black w/ Red Accent design which not only looks better, but offers a bit more quirky features for budget video shooters. (BTW I made a mistake, and I don't need the M43 adapter for the version of the Black Magic Cinema Camera currently, just the Nikon to EF shim).

At just $350 dollars (found here), I feel it's not very much to ask for a solid 85mm video lens with a wide aperture, smooth manual focus, de-clicked aperture, and built in lens gears. Keep in mind that on cameras like the GH3 the focal distance will be hard to manage with hand held shooting. There is no image stabilization on this lens. For tripod mounted shots, it will produce that beautiful portrait style look and provide smooth focusing between subjects. The Rokinon 85mm T/1.5 Cine Lens is available now via B&H or Canon, Nikon, Pentax, and Sony E & A mounts (click here).

The Rokinon 85mm F/1.4 is a popular lens among DSLR video shooters. The focal range and aperture combination make for a solid portrait lens or capable when shooting in low lighting conditions. Not the craziest deal i've seen, but If you were already planning on such a lens, it's currently discounted at $50 dollars off (for all camera mounts) and sale ends next week. Check it out via B&H (click here).

Rokinon Fisheye HD Optics 8mm

Rokinon has updated their popular 8mm Fisheye lens to include better optics and now a removable lens hood. I recall some people needed to shave down the old version depending on the camera they were trying to fit it with. This will give you 180 degree viewing angle on APS-C sensor sized cameras. Although it can be mounted on Full Frame cameras like the 5D the image will not fill the entire frame. You can already find the Rokinon 8mm F/3.5 Fisheye lens available via B&H (click here) and also via eBay (Click Here)

Quick look at the new Rokinon 35mm T/1.5 Cine Lens. Basically same glass elements compared to their standard 35mm F/1.4 Photo lens. It's just a small $50 dollar difference in price, with a few Cine style features such as de-clicked aperture, lens gears on focus and aperture rings, and indicator markings placed towards the side.

Rokinon's first Cine lens was an 8mm T/3.8, but along with this 35mm F/1.5, they have also just made available their new 14mm T/3.1 and 24mm T/1.5 Cine lenses which just recently became available to purchase. Those wide angle 8mm and 14mm might come in handy for the new BlackMagic Cinema Camera. Check out the complete Rokinon Cine Lens collection in stock over at B&H (Click Here).

Just talking about Canon's latest Compact Prime Cine Lenses, it's not for everyone. Fortunately Rokinon is well aware of the DSLR Video scene and is adding another Cine lens to it's product line and i'm feeling the new Rokinon 35mm T/1.5 Cine lens is going to be a winner. The available Rokinon 8mm T/3.8 Cine Lens didn't really take off since it was more of a specialty type wide angle fisheye look.

The new 35mm Cine Lens will have a lens gear built around the housing, and de-clicked manual aperture ring to adjust exposure on the fly. First lenses will come in Canon, Nikon, and Sony mounts, but as one wise commenter mentioned you could just go for the Nikon version (since it's a manual lens) and find simple adapter to fit just about everything else.

[Update] Rokinon will also be announcing a new 14mm T/3.1 & 24mm T/1.5 Cine Lens. At this time, only the 8mm T/3.5 Fisheye is already available, and 35mm T/3.1 has been just been released for pre-order, but you'll be able to check out the entire Rokinon Cine Lens collection over at B&H (Click Here).
