Trying to mount a 23" full 1080p HDMI IPS LCD inside of a Pelican 1620 hard case, so we made this custom metal plate. Just waiting for my Vesa mount to arrive to finalize this little build out.
This single display attaches to the 'multi view' of the Blackmagic Design ATEM Production Studio 4K Live Switcher for me to see all my video feeds in a single monitor. The monitor offers (2) HDMI inputs and can be powered via 12V DC so I can run it off batteries.

[Rant: I have a Love/Hate relationship with this project but i'm getting closer to the finish line..]

Hi Emm, did you manage to finish this product, i am interested in seeing the outcome. thanks
Emm
Post author@Kasper - I am making my own plate for the back of the monitor and using epoxy to permanently mount the new plate behind the LCD. The monitor is not that heavy. It might now be pretty but it will hold.

Hi Emm,
Just wondering how you're going to mount this monitor to the case when it doesn't have holes on the back of it for VESA mounts?
I thought about buying this same monitor and mount it in a pelican style case myself, in order to make a groundstation for my video downlink feed from my hexacopters, but the fact that it's lacking a VESA mount has held me off, as I'm simply too busy with other DIY adventures at the moment.
Would love to hear how you plan on mounting this monitor, and please post some more pictures of your project! 🙂

Emm, what would you suggest for an Ultra thin LeD 1/4"thick Monitor Solution that has no mounting points at rear but has a flat surface.

Post author@jacob - Most of the heat complaints were with the TV Studio ATEM. Some complained it could get too hot to touch. The Production 4K ATEM has fans and I don't notice it getting hot at all. Only time will tell as i'm still in the middle of building this out. What cameras did you choose to work with your switch?
Jacob
Interesting! So the pelican case will sit on the top with the monitor?
I just racked my Production Studio 4k, but I was a bit worried about heat. I leave an RU above and below it - have you had any issues with heat having other units above/below it in a rack?
Cheers!

Post author@DigitalCyclops - Surprisingly pretty solid once you have all the latches in place. It's a fast mobile workstation for me and my gear.

Wow! That origami rack seems pretty good. Is it fairly solid? Or is there lots of wiggle play in it Emm?

Post author@Aron J Anderson - I have a 4U rack case for my Live Switch, Mixer, Intensity Extreme, etc. I also need to bring a laptop to work the switch + this monitor. The large case is because i'm also transporting long SDI cables, and camera equipment. Hopefully I can get everything into two cases, and i'm bring an Origami rack to place everything as my workspace. https://www.amazon.com/Origami-R3-01-General-Purpose-Collapsable/dp/B00495YOFY
The rack has casters to roll things about, very fast, and lightweight.

Are you mounting this So the monitor will be mounted and ready to go when you get on location. Are you going to make a light stand/tripod or just put the whole thing on a table.
Sheldon
Cool. I'd love to see the final workflow. Interesting approach.
