Just when you think you've got the latest and greatest, and that everyone has thought of it all, there's that other guy that just has to add one more thing. Remember I posted this video on cheap wireless flash triggers a while back? Or how about this video on a Cheap Tethered Shutter Remote + Wireless Remote Shutter Remote?

Well the company Yongnuo just had to up everyone else in combining those two ideas into an entirely new Tethered Shutter Remote + Wireless Shutter Remote + Wireless Flash Trigger + support for Wireless Studio Strobe Trigger combination and i'm liking loving it! If you haven't heard of the name Yongnuo, they have grown over the years as a very reliable company in aftermarket Photography equipment. The original wireless flash triggers I showed are used by many photographers who don't need the ETTL support or High Speed Sync. In fact there's a large following in the Flickr photography community on several Yongnuo products including this popular Camera Flash for Nikon and Canon that supports ETTL communication.

    It will work. It's just a generic trigger. There's no communication between the camera for TTL or HSS.

    The description of the yongnuo wireless shutter on ebay germany does not state anywhere compatibility with the Canon Eos 550d

    I am wondering if you tested it with cameras other than the 5Ds Mark II.

    Yes, I am using these for my studio strobes with PC sync. This is the cheapest easiest set in which I can combine use of my Speedlites with my Studio Strobes. They are pretty versatile, love these things. They just can't support HSS.

    Off camera without HSS, it's a great flash for it's price. It's not designed to like Canon's top of the line 580 EX II, I would think it sits somewhere closer to the 430 speedlites. Firing off camera, you'll need to get some triggers like the new Yongnuo's I just purchased.

    It will lack alot of features than Canon. Most features people don't normally care for so for the price it's not a bad flash. You won't have HSS, you won't have the option for external power pack, you won't have Infrared controls for ETTL, and possibly not as large a capacitor. If you use it on your camera for shutter speeds of up to 1/200ths then it will work as a bsic flash

    Wirelessly, you can trigger almost any kind of flash with Yongnuo triggers. It doesn't look like it supports the infrared communication from the Canon ST-E2, so if you use it off camera it will be in a manual setting. On camera is works similar to the normal speedlite, but you might not have HSS capability.

    This YN-468 Flash Speedlite for Canon 450D 500D 550D 1000D that you posted up here, do you think it's a good one? It only works with this yongnuo wireless shutter remote, or works with whatever wireless shutter?

    I mean, now i'm seeing that the YN-468 is in your post, but you think it's as good (or almost as good) as the canon flashes like the 480ii ?
